LEARNING FOR LIFE ~ CHRISTIAN EDUCATION VISION That all may know and experience to overflowing the love and grace of Jesus Christ and be willing to disciple others in service to Him. MISSION STATEMENT The Christian Education will develop and nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and promote Bible literacy. CURRICULUM & SUNDAY SCHOOL In September of 2000 the Christian Education began a new curriculum called "FaithWeaver" published by Group Publishing of Loveland, Colorado. FaithWeaver offers the opportunity for everyone to study the same Bible story on the same day in unique age-appropriate ways. Parents through take-home resources, which include fun family devotions and activities, easily reinforce each week’s Bible Point. Through prayer and a reminder of Jesus’ saving grace everyone goes home with spiritual food that lasts the whole week until they are re-fueled on Sunday again. Every 12 weeks different volunteer leaders teach the lessons. Classes range from 1 year olds right through the 12th grade with Bible Studies offered for adults. The fall 12-week session begins the first Sunday in September with a Rally Sunday Breakfast. Old Testament stories are the focus for fall. The winter session teaches from the New Testament about the birth of Jesus, which is continued in the spring with stories from the four Gospels. Throughout the year the Sunday school is involved in various outreach missions. Our Summer Church for the children begins the Sunday after Children's Sunday and ends on Labor Day Sunday. And during the first week of August children are invited to attend our Vacation Bible School. (See coming events page for exact dates for this year.) Through Christian education we are hoping that all will "be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have." 1Peter 3:15b
